The chain screen allows the property chain to be plotted out, while also providing the option to log the progression of each transaction in the chain

1. Accessing the chain screen

From

  • In Available Offers panel, select the accepted offer

2. Chain screen overview

  • Details of the property you are selling are shown with buyer and vendor details, plus links to the solicitors are available

  • The entry is shown with a red border around it to help identify this property (as the main one) once chain links are added

Tip

The icons across the bottom of the panel give an indication of the current status of this transaction

Clicking the Progress link displays the sales progression screen - click here for more information

3. Enter vendor's purchase

  • Click Chain (at the top of the screen) and select Enter vendor's purchase

    A message will be displayed - see 3a

  • Click Yes

4. Property being sold by an external agent

When the property is being sold by an external agent, a link is added to the top of the chain ready for you to complete

5. Property being sold by you

When the property is being sold by you

  • The Search Properties box is displayed, allowing you to select the relevant property

  • Double-click the property when found
    The vendor name will be displayed

  • Select their name and click Accept

  • The link will be added to the chain with all details complete

6. Complete & close chain

Continue adding vendor purchase details

  • Click Chain Open link and repeat steps 3-5

  • When the end of the chain is reached, click Chain Open and select Chain is closed

    This will change the status to Chain Closed and enter Vendor has nothing to buy (right)

7. Enter buyer's sale

  • Click Chain (at the bottom of the screen) and select Enter buyer's sale

    Follow the same process outlined in steps 3-5 to enter the buyer's sale details

  • When all links are added, click Chain Open again and select Chain is closed

8. Options links

  • Each link in the chain has an Options menu which offers different options depending on the property chosen

  • Options are given such as to break the chain up/down, mark the transaction as exchanged (external properties) and View Offer Details (internal properties)
