This guide has been reviewed against our global client base and classed as relevant to all regions

How to identify the amount the tenant owes until their vacate/tenancy end date

1. Enter the tenancy end date

From the tenancy screen:

  • In the Tenancy end date field, enter the date to which the tenant should pay rent

  • Tick End Confirmed

  • Enter the reason when prompted

  • Save the tenancy

2. Check for any current rent arrears

Identify how many outstanding rent invoices are currently against the tenant

From tenancy, Accounts Functions panel:

  • Click View Transactions

  • Select your preferred view from the three Grouping options:

    • None

    • By Receipt

    • By Invoice

This example has one unpaid rent invoice for the period 06/04/2020 to 05/05/2020 for $3,172.02

3. Check view/raise invoice

To view future rent invoices that have not yet been raised:

  • From the tenancy Accounts Functions panel, in the Invoicing section select View/Raise Invoice

  • Any remaining rent invoices left to be raised will appear
These should be included when providing the tenant with the final calculation

  • To see a breakdown of any pro-rata calculation, see 3a

This example still has $1,251.43 to be invoiced up until the tenant end date. Therefore, the total needed to pay to the tenancy end date is: $3,172.02 + $1,251.43 = $4,423.45
