This guide has been reviewed against our global customer base and classed as relevant to all regions

Available from version 12.224

More information on adding a new tenancy/offer is available here:

Various updates have been made when adding a new tenancy/offer and making changes to a tenancy type:

  • when adding tenancy/offer, the rent amount defaults to the rent amount on the property record

  • a rent amount must be entered, it cannot be left blank

  • the default tenancy type is displayed on the new tenancy/offer and can be changed - a type must be set in order to save the tenancy

  • changes to the tenancy type are logged in the tenancy activity feed

All updates are outlined below

1. Updates when adding a new tenancy/offer

When adding a new tenancy/offer on a lettings property, updates have been made to the final step of the process:

  • Rent value from the property is carried across to the Amount

    • If no amount is added, the new tenancy/offer cannot be saved

  • Default tenancy Type is set but can be changed

    • If no default tenancy is set (via configuration), the type will be blank

    • A tenancy type must be set in order to save the new tenancy/offer

1a. Configuration difference when adding a new tenancy offer

When adding a new tenancy offer:

  • Tenancy Details may display as shown below
    This is dependent on configuration

  • Where this applies, although the process is slightly different and allows the offer Status to be logged, the notes in step 1 are still applicable - i.e.:

    • Rent value from the property is carried across to the Amount

      • If no amount is added, the new offer cannot be saved

    • Default tenancy Type is set but can be changed

      • If no default tenancy is set (via configuration), the type will be blank

      • A tenancy type must be set in order to save the new offer

2. Changes to tenancy type logged in tenancy Activity Feed

From tenancy Activity Feed:

  • Changes to the Type are logged

  • Changes are logged as a Management Note and include details of what was changed, who made the change and when (date/time)

In this example, a change from Assured Shorthold to Short Let has also resulted in a changed to the Periodic status of the tenancy (therefore this is also logged)

If your configuration set-up is as outlined in point 1a - after a tenancy offer is logged, until a new tenancy record is created, any changes to the tenancy type are logged against the applicant record
