Enter a custom alternate code on a property

Enter a custom alternate code on a property

This guide has been reviewed against our global client base and classed as relevant all regions

Alternate codes are useful for creating your own property references, making it easier to search and collate information in your own way

Alternate codes can be used to search for a property record instead of using the code automatically generated by the system (although this reference will still be present and used as the primary reference code for the property)

1. Access property marketing screen

From the relevant property record:

  • Click Marketing

  • In the Additional panel, enter your code in the Alternate Code field, e.g. 1966

2. Search for properties using the alternate code

To search using the alternate code, you need to use the Advanced Search screen

  • Click the search icon (magnifying glass, top left), then click Advanced Search and select
    Property Search

  • In the Code field, enter a # followed by the alternate code you are searching for, e.g. #1966 and click Search
Properties that match the alternate code will be shown on the right of the search screen
