This page explains the different marketing consent status options in RPS in terms of what they mean and where they can be changed.
Using RPS does not guarantee GDPR compliance, you should always follow your own corporate process to ensure this.
Consent for marketing does not affect property matching and is not possible to configure RPS to do so.
1. Changing marketing consent Marketing Consent is stored against the Contact record
Important All contacts registered in RPS prior to 25/05/2018 with a consent status of Not asked will be automatically classed as Consent given. Any contact record created after this date with a consent status of Not asked as will be treated as Consent denied. | |
2. Reporting on marketing consent See Related articles links below for some Power Report examples

As well as setting Marketing Consent on the contact record, it is possible to apply individual levels of consent to mailings/events within the Categories & Mailings screen (also on the contact record).
This can be used when a contact has denied consent for general marketing but has expressed interest in specific publications. Or the reverse - where a contact has consented for marketing but has requested to not receive items on specific subjects.
Use the Categories & Mailings screen in the contact record to specify individual requirements. Any mailings that a contact chooses to opt out of is recorded, along with the date it was changed.
