You may notice that you cannot view a certain record because it is flagged as **Masked**.

RPS masks applicants/properties/contacts/diary entries based on which negotiator owns the record or which office owns the record.

This page explains why this is happening and the best approach to take.

1. Why are records masked? A record is masked due to the security settings for your company This is affected by the Manager/Negotiator or Office that owns that record Although a contact/property may be yours; you may not have the necessary permissions to view that office/negotiator's data in RPS
2. Editing a masked record On some occasions, while the record appears masked, you are still able to click links, view information and possibly make some changes For example, in the screen on the right, the Vendor link can still be clicked and details accessed
