This page outlines the steps to follow if you need to change your client account bank details

Checklist

1. Let Reapit know you are changing your account

2. Ensure your new account has BACS enabled, confirm this with Reapit Support

3. Provide Reapit Support with details of your new bank account

Reapit may need to advise that the new bank is not currently supported
If this is the case*, you will be asked to provide a & b:

a: literature on the BACS file format

b: an example statement download

* This must be done with at least two weeks’ notice - as time will be needed to develop and test before changeover - note that where a format is not currently supported, the process will require project management and will therefore be chargeable

4. Tell Reapit your desired changeover date

Interim changes to working practice

Until your old account is phased out, please ensure to:

  • Transfer funds every day from your old account to your new account
You should aim to keep your old account at £0.00 balance each day from changeover date onwards

  • Import statements to RPS from both your old account and your new account

  • All payments out (BACS, manual & cheques) should be done through your new account only

  • Continue to process Receipts from Statements and Bank Reconciliation as usual

  • You will have lump sums showing on the Bank Reconciliation screen that will contra each other out – these sums will be the transfers between your old and new bank accounts
To get around this, use the Bank Reconciliation screen to mark these entries as reversals

The old account will then be phased out

  • No labels
