You may notice that you cannot view a certain record because it is flagged as **Masked**.
Applicants/properties/contacts/diary entries will show as masked due to which negotiator owns the record or which office owns the record.
This page explains why this is happening and the best approach to take.
1. Why are records masked? - A record is masked due to the way the system security settings are configured for your company
- This is affected by the Manager/Negotiator or Office that owns that record
- Although a contact/property may be yours; you may not have the necessary permissions to view the selected office/negotiator's data

2. Editing a masked record - On some occasions, while the record appears masked, you are still able to click links, view information and possibly make some changes
- For example, in the screen on the right, the Vendor link can still be clicked and details accessed
