MRZ passport code validation when entering ID

This guide has been reviewed against our global client base and classed as relevant to all regions

Available from version 12.177

This functionality applies when a system is configured to require a passport number to be entered when logging ID
If you are an Enterprise customer and you require this to be enabled on your system, click here to contact Reapit Support

If you already have the ability to enter a passport number (via the Details field) when logging ID, then no extra configuration is required to use the functionality outlined on this page

When entering the MRZ passport code for the purposes of logging ID, an option to validate the format of the MRZ code is available

When using this functionality, the code will be validated for accuracy before the ID can be saved

1. Enter passport as ID type

From ID check screen:

  • Click Add New and, where required, select New ID Check

  • Select Passport as an ID type

  • A notepad icon is displayed to the right of the Details field

  • Use the MRZ code validation screen to ensure the passport code is entered correctly
The grey characters/digits shown on screen give an indication of what is required - they are removed when you enter the first character/digit for each field
