Set number of days rent can be paid in arrears - configuration option

This guide has been reviewed against our global client base and classed as relevant to all regions

A configuration option is available which allows a number of days to be set, per tenancy, that a rent invoice can be paid before it is flagged as being in arrears in AgencyCloud

This is useful for specific tenancies where the contracted rent is due at the end of the rental period (or on an agreed date within the period) rather than at the beginning of it - such as 28 day housing benefit tenancies

This setting applies to tenant rent invoices only

1. Set number of days in arrears that rent is payable

From tenancy:

  • Click Financial & Renewals

  • Beside Payable, click x days in arrears and enter the required number of days
When the number of days is set to zero, the feature is disabled

  • Click Accept

2. Tenancy arrears

When a tenancy in arrears is selected that has the Payable x days in arrears functionality enabled and set to 1 or more:

  • A Due Date column is added to the arrears detail panel at the bottom of the screen
For example, the selected tenancy’s Payable x days in arrears is set to 28 days - therefore the Due Date shown is 28 days later than the usual invoice date

  • The number of Days & Items in arrears (shown in the main panel) reflect the change to the Payable x days in arrears setting, as shown in step 1
