Transfer disputed funds to deposit scheme via tenant refund screen - configuration option

This guide has been reviewed against our global client base and classed as relevant to all regions

A configuration option is available which allows disputed funds managed via a deposit protection scheme to be identified as part of the deposit release process from within the tenant deposit refund screen

When configured, this feature is available for tenancies that have a deposit protection scheme set up and a cleared deposit balance

1. Access Tenant Refunds screen

From tenancy:

  • Beside Deposit, click Manage

 

From Tenancy Deposit Details:

  • Click Refund Deposit

    The Tenant Refunds screen is displayed

 

2. Post charge for disputed funds

From Tenant Refunds:

  • Click Post a charge for disputed funds

  • Enter the amount of held deposit to transfer & click Accept

    The maximum amount that can be transferred will be displayed, this can be changed (to a lesser amount), where required, as shown below

  • A confirmation message is displayed, click Yes

  • The amount shown in Tenant Refunds is updated accordingly

3. Deposit Held & Disputed Funds shown on deposit details

From Tenancy Deposit Details:

  • Deposit Held & Refunds sections are updated accordingly

4. Transferring a deposit out

The maximum deposit amount that can be transferred out will reflect the amount of deposit now held
